The joint is enclosed in a capsule not allowing it dislocate. This casing is lined with synovium which secretes a thick nourishing liquid that lubricates the joint well. Inflammation of this casing due to arthritis results in too much of fluid with inflammatory cells which in turn drainage the cartilage first and the underlying the bone next.

A few types of arthritis affect more than the joints of bones A type lupus affects the skin nervous system, kidneys and heart. In Fibromyalgia muscle pain and chronic fatigue occur. In Scleroderma the connective tissue of the skin thickens and hardens and affects the internal organs also.

There is thus relentless research on the various manifestations and dynamics of this disease. Support as well as training is ready at hand to cope with this disorder. As in the case of other diseases, an early diagnosis in particular is extremely important in long term management of it and the final result.
