An Overview to colic in babiesBabies
are usually accompanied by lots of crying for long hours when they have
colic. Colic in babies results in the crying of babies for three to
four hours a day. Colic in babies make the babies cry three to four
days in a week and can extend up to three to four months. In some rare
case, colic in babies prevails for a long time which can be greater
than six months and less than one year.
The immature nervous system of the baby is considered to be one of the other causes of colic in babies, as the baby is unable to regulate crying once it starts. Poor digestion is considered to be one of the other common causes of colic in babies, as the babies get cramps as milk is passed through their immature digestive system. Cow's milk and formula milk given to babies are considered to be one of the other common causes of colic in babies, as some bottle-fed babies and are sensitive to lactose in these milks. Pulling of the legs up to the stomach and then fully stretching is one of the symptoms of colic in babies. Feet getting cold and hands getting clenched are some of the other common symptoms of colic in babies. Reddening of the babys face and refusing to eat or becoming fussy soon after eating are some of the symptoms of colic in babies.Lifting the head or legs and passing gas are symptoms of colic in babies. Seeming generally uncomfortable and appearing to be in pain always is one of the other common symptoms of colic in babies.
