Various child anxiety disordersChild anxiety disorders can occur in both young children and adolescents. There are various types of child anxiety disorders. A child is said to be suffering due any one of the child anxiety disorders, when the level of anxiety in the individual rises to unhealthy or pathologic levels. The child anxiety disorders are mainly composed of two components such as physical sensations which involve headache, nausea, and sweating and emotional sensations which involve nervousness and fear.
Panic disorder is one of the other types of child anxiety disorders that is different from pain attacks. Obsessive compulsive disorder is one of the other types of child anxiety disorders that cause unreasonable and excessive obsessions and compulsions. The obsessions include intrusive, unwanted thoughts, images, ideas or urges while compulsions are intense uncontrollable repetitive behaviors or mental acts related to the obsessions.Posttraumatic stress disorder is one of the other types of child anxiety disorders that occurs when a person experiences, witnesses, or is confronted by a traumatic event involving actual or perceived threat of death or serious bodily injury. Social phobia is one of the other types of child anxiety disorders that cause persistent and significant fear of one of more social situations in a person exposed to unfamiliar persons or scrutiny by others. Specific phobia is one of the other types of child anxiety disorders that causes persistent and significant fear recognized as unreasonable and excessive that is triggered by the presence or perception of a specific feared situation or object. Adjustment disorder with anxiety is one of the other types of child anxiety disorders which involve the development of emotional and/or behavioral symptoms occurring within three months in response to an identifiable stressor.
