About Child Tantrums, its Symptoms and Treatment Information

Child tantrums are a way for children to express their feelings and thoughts. They may not know how to express their anger and frustration. Hence they throw tantrums when they need to express. Parents need not worry about the tantrums since the child will learn automatically to control anger and frustration once they grow.

Anyhow it is parent who should teach them how to control their emotions and express them in the form of words instead of throwing tantrums. It may be embarrassing for the parent if the child throws tantrums at a public place. When the child throws tantrums it is best to ignore the behavior. If the parent tries to console the child during tantrums and if the parent gives in to the demand of the child, then the child would repeat throwing tantrums whenever he wants to demand something.

This would become a practice for the child to ask for something. Hence the best way to avoid tantrums in the future is to ignore it at the first instance. The child would then understand that it is not the best way to demand anything. After the child calms down the parent can talk to the child and teach him to express his anger in a different way by using words. They should make them understand that it is a bad way to express their feelings.During tantrums the child may bite, hit and pinch the parents. They may flail their arms and arch their back and make their body tense.

Sometimes they may throw any objects that are in their reach. Hence parents should make sure that there are no dangerous objects within the reach of the child. Time out is a method that may also give good results. If the child is old enough to be alone the parents may ask them to go to their room and leave them alone to calm down. This will also make the child understand that what they do is a bad habit. If the child hurts himself when they throw tantrums and if this happens often it is best to consult a doctor on how to deal with such behaviours.

Tears to tantrums – puh-lease (The State)
I doubt that Brett Favre cries easily. He wears Wrangler jeans and work boots, has a grizzled beard and the gall to throw into triple coverage. He does not strike me as a guy who spends a lot of money on tissue. So when he wept at his most recent farewell news conference 41/2 months ago, I felt for him. He was the quarterback we all would like to be. He plays as if he makes up pass patterns in ...
