Perfect cure for chronic constipationConstipation
in general is difficulty in passing motion. Some times the stool turns
hard and dry due to various reasons. We can see blood in stools. This
constipation you see, leads to innumerous problem sometime. Few tips
to counter constipation are discussed below: -
We can very well try gentle exercises. Take a short walk each day. We need to Gradually increase the walking time to least 20 minutes. We must plan fruits, vegetables, and fiber in the diet in all possible day. We can have a bran muffin or bran cereal for breakfast. We can try fruit for a mid-afternoon snack. It is always to maintain specific time each day for the motion. We should take our time. We should be never in a hurry while trying motion. We should make sure that we drink enough fluids. Adults should drink between 8 to10 glasses of water, beverages, or fruit juice each day. We should reduce the intake of alcohol and caffeine, which causes dehydration. If we have heart failure or kidney failure, we must talk to the health professional to know about right amount of fluid intake. If the constipation is severe we can consume some synthetic fiber, [Beefier, Citrucel, Fibercon, Metamucil, Perdue], to our diet each day. We can also try a stool softener [Solace] if the stools are very hard. If constipation persists, we can use laxative. [Fleet Phosphor-Soda or Phillip's Milk of Magnesia]. We should not use a laxative without consulting the health professional. We should not take a laxative if we have kidney problems. We may occasionally need to try a stimulant laxative, such as Ex-Lax or Feen-a-Mint.we should not use these laxative preparations regularly. Regular use may interfere with the bodys ability to absorb vitamin D and calcium; as a result our bones may weaken. Overuse of stimulant laxatives decreases the tone and sensation in the large intestine, causing dependence on laxatives. We need
to look in to the medication that we are taking. Antacids (containing
calcium) and iron supplements can result in constipation. Some other
drugs, especially pain relievers [contain narcotics] can also lead to
constipation. We can take a laxative if constipation continues, but
we should avoid regular usage of the same. If we have symptoms like
a fever, severe abdominal pain, vomiting, pro-longed bloating, very
thin stools, blood in your stools or frequent bouts of constipation
it is always advisable to take the opinion of a qualified physician.
We should
be sure of eating plenty of fresh, raw fruits and vegetables and drinking
enough water. If we are eating right, constipation should not occur
frequently. When constipation hits, your first line of defense should
be a regimen of prune juice, fresh salads, or perhaps a natural enema.
If more help is needed, a tea of Senna with Licorice, or Cascara Sagrada
with Coriander can be taken. Mix 1 t of each herb. Pour one cup of almost-boiling
water over it and steep 10 minutes. For an enema, make an herbal tea
of red raspberry leaves and fennel and use it as the enema water. If
a constipation problem is not solved and becomes chronic, it eventually
causes an obstruction that manifests as another disease.
