Perfect cure for chronic constipation

Constipation in general is difficulty in passing motion. Some times the stool turns hard and dry due to various reasons. We can see blood in stools. This constipation you see, leads to innumerous problem sometime. Few tips to counter constipation are discussed below: -

We can very well try gentle exercises. Take a short walk each day. We need to Gradually increase the walking time to least 20 minutes. We must plan fruits, vegetables, and fiber in the diet in all possible day. We can have a bran muffin or bran cereal for breakfast. We can try fruit for a mid-afternoon snack. It is always to maintain specific time each day for the motion. We should take our time. We should be never in a hurry while trying motion. We should make sure that we drink enough fluids. Adults should drink between 8 to10 glasses of water, beverages, or fruit juice each day. We should reduce the intake of alcohol and caffeine, which causes dehydration. If we have heart failure or kidney failure, we must talk to the health professional to know about right amount of fluid intake.

If the constipation is severe we can consume some synthetic fiber, [Beefier, Citrucel, Fibercon, Metamucil, Perdue], to our diet each day. We can also try a stool softener [Solace] if the stools are very hard. If constipation persists, we can use laxative. [Fleet Phosphor-Soda or Phillip's Milk of Magnesia]. We should not use a laxative without consulting the health professional. We should not take a laxative if we have kidney problems. We may occasionally need to try a stimulant laxative, such as Ex-Lax or Feen-a-Mint.we should not use these laxative preparations regularly. Regular use may interfere with the body’s ability to absorb vitamin D and calcium; as a result our bones may weaken. Overuse of stimulant laxatives decreases the tone and sensation in the large intestine, causing dependence on laxatives.

We need to look in to the medication that we are taking. Antacids (containing calcium) and iron supplements can result in constipation. Some other drugs, especially pain relievers [contain narcotics] can also lead to constipation. We can take a laxative if constipation continues, but we should avoid regular usage of the same. If we have symptoms like a fever, severe abdominal pain, vomiting, pro-longed bloating, very thin stools, blood in your stools or frequent bouts of constipation it is always advisable to take the opinion of a qualified physician.

If we move our bowels once in every three or maybe four days, feel bloated, and pass small, hard stools, probably we may be constipated. We should drink lots of liquid every day. . When the intestines lack proper hydration, stools turn hard and dry and become much more difficult to come out. Hence drinking plenty of water lubricates the intestine thus helping to counter constipation. We should consume fibrous grains, fruits (prune juice) and vegetables to our diet every day. Fiber adds bulk to the intestines and creates stools that are easier to pass. Drinking hot water, tea or coffee also helps. Hot beverages, containing caffeine, stimulate the bowels. Incorporate in regular exercise into our lifestyle also helps immensely to counter constipation. Digestion becomes enhanced when the abdominal muscles are used during exercise. The contraction and relaxation of the muscles helps the intestines to move stools through the digestive tract. Aerobic exercise such as jogging, tennis and brisk walking are considered best to work against constipation.

We should be sure of eating plenty of fresh, raw fruits and vegetables and drinking enough water. If we are eating right, constipation should not occur frequently. When constipation hits, your first line of defense should be a regimen of prune juice, fresh salads, or perhaps a natural enema. If more help is needed, a tea of Senna with Licorice, or Cascara Sagrada with Coriander can be taken. Mix 1 t of each herb. Pour one cup of almost-boiling water over it and steep 10 minutes. For an enema, make an herbal tea of red raspberry leaves and fennel and use it as the enema water. If a constipation problem is not solved and becomes chronic, it eventually causes an obstruction that manifests as another disease.
