The Three Keys to Prevent Constipation

All of us have experienced constipation at one point in our lives at least. When you can completely prevent this, you should never learn to live with it. You have a lot of options when you want to prevent constipation. The three basic things to be done are as follows.

1. Increase fluid intake.

2. Have fiber rich food.

3. Increase activity and exercise.

Increase fluid intake:

If you do not have a lot of fluid in your body, the stool tends to harden and it becomes very difficult for you to pass motion. The best thing to do in such a case would be to drink about six to eight glasses of water everyday especially as soon as you get up in the morning. Such a habit will make bowel movement easy and constipation can be prevented. Avoid caffeine products, soda, or anything that is high on sodium as they tend to dehydrate your body and reduces hydration thus causing constipation.

Have fiber rich food

Add a lot of vegetables, whole grains, starchy vegetables, and nuts to your diet. The foods like nuts, berries, apples, prunes, whole wheat bread, brussel sprouts, turnip greens, and artichokes are rich in fiber and will help your bowel movement to better. Your constipation is prevented and your bowel movement will become scheduled. You can also purchase fiber supplements and have them. You need to intake fiber supplements before your breakfast and they come in a mixed form with juice or with water. Such supplements can easily be added to your daily diet.

Increase activity and exercise

Exercise is a very good way to prevent constipation whether you agree or not. Research has proven that people who are more active are less prone to being constipated. So, try exercising everyday and inculcate this habit. You need not perform vigorous exercises. All you need to do is walk for about half an hour for a day to make your bowel movement easy and regular.

If you follow the three keys above you can easily prevent constipation.
