Cause of Eczema - An OverviewIrritants are supposed to be the major cause of eczema, than allergens. Laundry detergent is a cause of eczema, as the enzymes in the detergent used for washing clothes can be a reason for the onset of eczema. Dish washing products are another cause of eczema, as the chemicals such as sodium lauryl sulphate and triclosan of these washing liquids can irritate the skin.
Soap is another cause of eczema, as the high sodium hydroxide content is one of the major contributing factors in for the onset of eczema in susceptible individuals. Shampoo and bubble bath is another cause of eczema, as chemicals such as sodium lauryl sulphate and formaldehyde contained in these products cause greater levels of irritation to the skin and can lead to eczema.Air fresheners and deodorants are another cause of eczema, as minute toxic particles of artificial musk released by these products when inhaled by intolerant individuals can lead to eczema. Household disinfectants are another cause of eczema, as these high potency bacteria killers contain chemicals such as triclosan which cause irritation to the skin and result in the onset of eczema. Toothpaste may be another cause of eczema, as the chemicals of the toothpaste when taken internally by children accidentally can cause some serious health problems. Skin care products are another cause of eczema, as the strong chemicals such as propylene glycol, formaldehyde, and triclosan contained in these products can disturb the skin and lead to eczema. Synthetic fabrics are another cause of eczema, as the main composition of these fabrics Teflon can act tough on the skin of sensitive people and can lead to an outbreak of eczema. Hard water may be another cause of eczema, as the high calcium content of hard water can cause greater levels of irritation to the skin. Scratching is another cause of eczema, as this action by small kids on itchy areas could aggravate the condition. Some of the other potential factors that may be a cause of eczema include house dust, pets, wool, moulds, and certain foods. Additional potential factors that may be a cause of eczema include certain prescription drugs, metals, and cement.
