Hormonal change is the main reason for hair loss in women. However, there are few other reasons including the reason of inherited genes that are responsible for hair loss during pre or post-menopause stage in women.

Further, when the women become pregnant, they tend to grow more hair and experience very heavy hair loss immediately after giving birth to the baby. This is again due to the hormonal changes in the body.

Stress also contributes its might in causing hair loss in women. It was proved that when women experience stress, the hair follicles will enter into a resting state, which is nothing but the “telogen effluvium” phase and later result in hair loss.

Administered Radiotherapy or Chemotherapy for cancer treatment can also be a major reason for hair loss in women.

During the chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment, it is quite normal for the matrix of the hair to get damaged resulting in a very heavy hair loss.
