Facts and Myths about Hair Loss in Men

Hair loss in men is one which can give many men sleepless nights, as men still associate hair with their personality and identity.

And in the absence of a good hair growth men are at a loss both at personality level and at self-esteem level.

Once they lose their hair, men start their search for the overnight cures or miracle cures and never leave any chance in trying out the medicines shown in commercial advertisements.

Further in their anxiety to get back the lost hair, men never bother to look into the various aspects such as the efficacy of the product, and the myths and facts about the hair loss in men.

The Myths or the Erroneous Zones in Hair Loss

• Though it was initially thought that only aged men are prone to hair loss it is not so in real case, as men of all ages lose hair for various reasons. The hair loss in men can even happen at the young age of 20 and women are also not spared in this.

• Few physicians have claimed that stress in men can cause severe hair loss. However, there is no concrete evidence in proving that stress can cause hair loss in men, but it has been found that men tend to lose hair at the rate of at least 100 hair strands daily when they are under the influence of stress.

• Hats and caps can cause hair loss. Though wearing a tight fitting cap or hat can cause sweating and interfere with blood circulation to the hair follicles, there is no scientific proof that they are capable of causing hair loss in men. At best one may get a headache and may not lose any hair.

• Unkempt and dirty hair will lead to follicle damage and hair will eventually fall out. Well, this is not true and doesn’t carry any weightage.

In an unkempt and dirty hair condition, the worst thing that can happen is the onset of scalp irritation and a simple shampoo washing can solve this problem.

To substantiate more on this, a small question can drive your fear away; have you ever seen a caveman (known for his unkempt and dirty hair) with a baldhead at all?

• Shaving your head can get you with a thick and robust hair growth. There is not even an iota of truth in this claim and in fact you will get only negative results, say losing your hair quickly than the normal.

• Dandruff can cause hair loss in men. No, it is not true again. Dandruff is a condition that affects the scalp area and has nothing to do with the hair follicles or health of the hair.

The Real and True Cause for Hair Loss

Genetic condition may play a vital role and may cause hair loss in men primarily. The formation of androgens from the puberty stage to adulthood stage is known to have an effect over the hair follicles.

The androgens when interact with the genetic condition make the hair follicle sensitive to various external and internal conditions and eventually make them susceptible for losing the hair strands.

Over a period of time the hair follicles lose its strength and make men bald. The severity of hair loss in men can be reduced and in certain cases even be stopped altogether.

For getting the necessary favourable results, you need to have the correct information on your specific hair loss situation, and then you should search for the correct medicine for such hair loss condition.

A point to remember here is that you need to act fast, lest you may end up not requiring any treatment at all due to the reason that you might have lost all the hair on your head by that time and have become bald.
