Heartburn Causes How to Avert HeartburnAn irritating
sensation felt by many after having a meal is the symptom of heartburn
and that could be the reason of something you have had in your meal.
Therefore, to avoid heartburn one should note down and find out the
reasons that cause this heartburn.
People prone to heartburn should avoid chocolates as it loosens the muscle that forms as a closure from the stomach to the throat. Digestion of fried and fatty foods is very slow so keep away from them. The pressure in the stomach due to the slow process of digestion induces acid reflux due to the sudden opening of the sphincter. Cardiovascular diseases are also kept at bay by keeping away from fried and fatty foods. Tomato and tomato based food items cause heartburn so keep away from pizzas and pastas. Alcohol and smoking causes the LES to loosen which in turn add more acids in the stomach causing acid reflux and heartburn. Citrus fruits and juices increase the acid in the stomach causing heartburn so people prone to heartburn should keep away from them. Avoid heavy and large meals, as this will induce acid reflux and heartburn. Also, maintain an upright position for at least two to three hours after every meal, which keeps you away from heartburn. Another remedy to avert heartburn is to keep the head raised on a pillow while lying down so that the acids do not flow upwards. Thus by slight modifications and changes in the food and postures one can keep away from acid reflux and heartburn.
