List of Immune System ProblemsThere are many types of immune system problems that are to be noted and can be divided into four categories. The first category of the problems is the immunodeficiency disorders. It can be primary or acquired. The second category of the immune systems disorders is the autoimmune disorders in which the immune system attacks its own cells.
This deficiency is a disorder in which the body doesnt produce the required quantity of the antibody IgA. People with these immune system problems tend to get colds, allergies and other respiratory problems. The condition of these infections may be severe in those people. Lack of B and T lymphocytes would cause problems of the immune system like severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID). Some of the other primary immune system problems are DiGeorge syndrome and Chediak-Higashi syndrome. The acquired immunodeficiencies as the name indicates are the acquired ones as a result of a disease or malnutrition or other medical problems. One of these types of immune system problems is caused by the HIV (human immunodeficiency virus). This virus destroys the immune system slowly and steadily. The HIV destroys the T-helper cells which are certain types of lymphocytes that are necessary to defend the body. Newborn babies can get the HIV infection from their mothers uterus or even during breast feeding. Unprotected sexual intercourse with an infected person or sharing contaminated needles can also cause these immune system problems.
