The need for pregnancy health adviceWomen need as much iron as normal during pregnancy. About 50 per cent of all women need an iron supplement during their pregnancy. This is regularly taken with food from the 20th week of pregnancy, and can take the form of medications or a natural herbal product.
Iron supplement can cause stomach pains, nausea or vomiting and slow down digestion and this can be avoided by taking iron supplements just before going to bed or eating a rich diet. Pregnancy is an important time in a womans life. Sure, there are discomforts, but carrying a baby to term is an incredible experience. Actually, sleep fullness can even deprive us of completing a single sensible thought. Traveling during pregnancy is generally possible but there are important things to keep in mind: Always seek a medical check-up before planning a trip and again shortly before departure. The most dangerous times for travel are during the first 12-15 weeks of pregnancy when miscarriage is more likely and after 30 weeks when complications are more common. Antenatal facilities differ greatly between countries and you should think carefully before traveling to a country with poor medical facilities or where there are major cultural and language differences from home. Illness during pregnancy can be more severe so take special care to avoid unhygienic food and water and insect and animal bites. Avoid partially cooked meat, unboiled milk products and soft cheeses. In some places infections such as tuberculosis or meningitis can be spread from close personal contact and these can be serious during pregnancy both to yourself and your unborn child. Appropriate vaccination and malaria prevention is sometimes different during pregnancy so seek out for advice. Some vaccines are best avoided during pregnancy, for example those that have live organisms. However immunization may be safer than traveling to some high-risk areas without protection. Discuss this carefully with your doctor or health care provider. It is important to get the 'all clear' from your own doctor before departure. Taking written records including details of your blood group are likely to be useful if you need medical attention while away. Make sure your insurance policy covers pregnancy but remember insurance policies are only as good as the facilities available. The stress of travel, dry aircraft cabin atmosphere, smoking more than usual and crowding, for example, in airports, hotels and discotheques will also contribute. Occasionally respiratory symptoms are due to exposure to new allergens and city air pollution. Influenza is most common in the southern hemisphere during their winter season. Vaccination should be considered for those at risk of serious disease. Many sorts of infections are spread through the respiratory route. Immunization should be considered for those at risk in prevalent areas during outbreaks. Drink plenty of water, which should be boiled. Iron is a best mineral, which is necessary for the production of hemoglobin. The red blood cells contain the pigment hemoglobin, which carries oxygen to every part of the cells in the body. One of the blood tests that a woman will usually take when she becomes pregnant is called the hemoglobin percentage because it measures the quantity of hemoglobin in the blood. A woman who is pregnant needs 30 milligrams of iron a day. Women need twice as much iron as usual during pregnancy. In order to provide this, about 50 per cent of all women need an iron supplement in their pregnancy. Women should discuss their diet with their doctor or midwife to find a ways that suits them best. A woman should plan to include as much iron as possible in her diet they are leafy green vegetables - such as spinach and curly kale - and whole meal products are good sources of iron. Vitamin C helps the body absorb more iron. Pregnant women should get extra vitamin C by drinking more orange juice. Eating dates gives more energy. A word of advice for the pregnant mother is keep a pregnancy journal before the demands of motherhood transform your expectations and dreams into a stature. And when your baby is old enough, you can present your child with a very unique gift and beautiful memories that have been lovingly preserved.
