Strep throat and tonsils infection are mostly seen in children and can be easily treated even without antibiotics. It is advisable to treat the child with enough fluids. The child should have adequate rest and can be given medicine to reduce pain or fever.
Strep throat is caused by bacterial infection and the inflammation of tonsils is due streptococcus bacteria, a very common bacteria. The symptoms

swallowing, swollen tonsils, fever etc., there are cases when a child
may have one or more of these symptoms but may not have strep throat
and this tonsils could be because of some viral infection.
There are also reasons for a person to have a streptococcus infection
but no sore throat. The doctors usually perform specific test for strep
throat and once diagnosed positive they give specific antibiotics for
the same. Strep throat and the bacterial tonsils infection caused by
it should be treated with due care as early as possible.
