UTI Treatment - An OverviewAn UTI treatment usually involves the use of antibacterial drugs. Plenty of drugs are available both over-the-counter and with prescription which are widely used in an UTI treatment. The type and duration of the UTI treatment for a patient depends up on the medical history and the urine tests of that patient. For minor cases of infection, antibiotics are prescribed for a couple of days as part of UTI treatment.

Drinking plenty of water is one of the preventive measures adopted during the course of UTI treatment, which helps cleanse bacteria out of the urinary tract. Avoiding coffee, alcohol, and spicy foods in one of the other measures adopted during the course of UTI treatment, that helps prevent flare ups. Avoiding smoking is one of the other measures adopted during the course of UTI treatment, which helps cure the infection faster.
