Know How Young Children are able to Play Safe with Hepatitis C Viral InfectionThe children
with hepatitis C and the suffering faced by them is not much known to
the medical fraternity and the public, because the researchers are still
working on those projects and are yet to come out with authentic information.
Hepatitis C virus infection spreads from one person to the other by blood transfusion. This is the reason only less number of children are infected with hepatitis C virus. Children do not engage in unsafe sex, they dont become drugs ab-users and they are less likely to require dialysis. The children do become the victims of hepatitis C infection through maternal transfer of the virus. Blood transfusion transmission was ruled out after the year 1992. This is because the blood testing techniques changed and the new technique that was introduced could detect the hepatitis C infection more efficiently. As per the statistical information nearly 0.25 million American children are infected with hepatitis C virus. The most important point here is that most of them are not treated because they are not aware that they have hepatitis C virus problem. The children who are in chronic stage of infection also dont show any symptoms. The only symptom they are exhibiting is mild stomach pain that goes unnoticed in most cases. The research is on to find out the facts about the mode of transmission of hepatitis C virus to the children and the response of the childrens body to that infection. But those studies are inconclusive so far. The only
way the children get this infection is at the time of surgery attempted
on them for some reason or ailment. There are chances that the 50 percent
of the children flush out those dangerous viruses. This kind of spontaneous
virus clearance will be possible in only 25 percent of the adults. Whether the infection happens at the time of delivery or before the delivery, is the question that needs to be answered by the scientists. But one thing is clear, the transfusion could not have happened during breast feeding unless otherwise the mothers nipple is having a cut. The level of serum in the blood is high for a brief period and it returns to normal after some time. The liver biopsy will be able to confirm the presence of hepatitis C infection. The treatments attempted in children who are at acute stage of infection bring out positive results very fast. The interferon is the best line of treatment. Interferon is used alone in children. In case
of adults the same interferon is combined with some other medications.
The researchers are yet find out the reason why adults require extra
medication and the children not. The research is still on; hopefully
all those questions will be answered in the near future. | Various complications in viral hepatatis | Different types of viral hepatitis | Treatment process of viral hepatitis | What are the various Causative organisms in viral hepatitis | How to treat & prevent viral hepatitis | What is Prognosis in viral hepatitis | Conceived your First Baby with Hepatitis C in your Blood? | Got Diagnosed for Hepatitis C Infection? | The Difficult Task of Diagnosing Hepatitis C in Aged People | How to deal with Emotionally Disturbed Hepatitis C Infected Persons | How to Handle the Undeterred Hepatitis C Infection Spread | Know the Multiple Entry Routes of Hepatitis C Infection | How to Trap and Fix Eluding Hepatitis C Symptoms in a Person | Correlativity between Hepatitis C and HIV Infection | Varied Treatment Options for Your Hepatitis C Infection | How Young Children Play Safe with Hepatitis C Viral Infection | |
