Steps to Build up Immune System

A person can build up immune system by taking food items that are rich in vitamin C, vitamin E, and minerals like Zinc, Iron, and Selenium. These vitamins contain antioxidants that are useful to build up immune system. The other ways is to take herbal medicines and allopathic medicines.



Food items that are rich in vitamin C are citrus fruits, green peppers, cantaloupes and broccoli. There are also other foods rich in vitamin C that can be taken to build up immune system. Foods that contain Zinc are whole grains and cooked oysters. Iron and Selenium are found in foods like Meats, dried beans and tofu, and fish, grains and nuts. These foods can be taken to build up immune system. Selenium supplements are not recommended since excess of selenium will damage the immune system.

Hence for selenium intake a person has to take foods items only like fish, grains, and nuts. Carotenoid is also used to build up immune system of our body. Catotenoids are antioxidants that are found in vegetables such as carrots, tomatoes, cantaloupes, pumpkin, and leafy green foods.
