Different ways to improve immune system

Chronic fatigue and other symptoms of many diseases are all due to a weak immune system. A weak immune system would find it difficult to fight against the infection causing micro organisms. Hence there is a need to improve immune system of our body.



To improve immune system you can take foods rich in antioxidants like the vitamin C rich foods. Foods like citrus fruits, green peppers, cantaloupes and broccoli have rich antioxidants which are used to improve the immunity. It is found that whole grains and cooked oysters improve immune system because of the presence of zinc in it. Zinc is an important mineral that is used to improve immune system. Iron and Selenium are the other minerals that improve immune system.

Too much of iron could be harmful to the body hence before taking up iron supplements to improve immune system it is better to consult a doctor. Foods that are rich in iron are Meats, dried beans and tofu. Selenium is found to improve immune system by increasing the growth of antibodies. Fish, grains, and nuts are good sources of selenium. Selenium supplements are not recommended since too much of selenium may damage the body immune system.

For the immune system to be strong a low fat diet is essential. You can also use herbal medicines like Echinacea which is available in the form of capsules and liquid extracts. This medicine will improve immune system by increasing the production the antibodies and the activities of the white blood cells. Herbs like Siberian ginseng and the Indian ginseng are also used to improve immune system. A rainforest herb uña de gato found in Peru will improve immune system.
